A few months ago I downloaded a few of the big PC98 file sets found on the net ( still there in spite of the Megaupload debacle ). [ One interesting thing is that the biggest - a 12GB set - is pretty well exactly the same as another set which came in at 6GB. The first, as it turned out, was RARed at zero compression. Strange. ]
Anyway, to cut the waffle, I have been working on replacing the Japanese folder names ( not the files, mind ) with the Roman names off Ben's database ( slightly amended to remove punctuation that causes chaos in SQL! ). I have been using this as the basis of my PC98 collection and have started adding in files from the seemingly endless folders I have downloaded over the last decade. Thanks to those who have provided that steady stream of uploads over that time period.
In case anyone has not done their own renaming, I figured I'd start uploading the set. I wanted to get the set to 2000 files, which I have done. I am still carrying on searching folders, but it is heavy going. I'll upload supplements as time allows. If you have already got the sets, please ignore, don't waste your time.
Note that I am bound to have made errors here and there - sorry in advance. Note also that the big set renaming is not complete - I still have about 70 files that have me stumped. Third note - I have no idea if all of these are working, or the best available sets - I just collect them LOL. Last note - I admit to having made a guess or two.
The uploading is taking forever ( let's hope Rapidshare stays existing ), but herewith part 1.
