Grand Theft Auto 3: Vice City
Beautification Project 1.0
by Tore Andersen
The GTA 3 Vice City Beautification Project is a small enhancement guide with step-by-step instructions for modding the 6th Grand Theft Auto game. It will fix a lot of issues with regards to newer computer systems, and significantly improve both graphics & effects. Grand Theft Auto 3: Vice city is not designed to be modified, but it's still possible with the use of some editing tools. The game was released in 2003, and the graphics and mechanics are very far from current day GTA games. With this modification guide, Vice City will get first person view, better textures, improved vegetation, better lighting and a new custom shader.

1 - Vice Cry 1.8
A very well made graphical overhaul by Kov.
As Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was not designed to use mods, I highly recommend backing up the game before starting. That way, if something goes wrong, or if you want to tryout different renders, then you don't need to install the entire game again.
1: Backup (Optional)
Make a backup. Create another folder and copy all files from within the Vice City game-folder to it.
2: Vice Cry 1.8 (LINK)
*This will be the base improvement of GTA 3: Vice City. It updates all textures and adds vegetation. Don't worry that it overwrites the 'gta-vc.exe' file. It's needed to extend some memory limits that otherwise would cause problems with the HD textures.
Download the file and install.
3: Vice Cry 1.8 Hot-Fix (LINK)
Download the file and install.
After installation, open the Vice City game-folder and delete the file 'CLEO.asi'.
2 - The G.V.B.P. Mod-List
The following mods need to be installed one by one, in the order they are listed. This is important, as some mods overwrite files from others.
Mods 1: Game Fixs & Tools
ASI Loader (LINK)
Download the file matching you version of Windows.
Unpack into the Vice City game-folder.
*This mod is needed to load ASI files from other mods.
Cleo (LINK)
Download Cleo for GTA VC.
Unpack into the Vice City game-folder.
*This mod is needed for other mods using cleo-scripts.
Frame Limit Adjuster (LINK)
Download and unpack to a temporary folder.
Copy the files from with the 'Gtavc' folder into the 'Cleo' folder inside the Vice City game-folder.
*The limit is set to 60 as default. If your monitor has a different limit, just rename the two files, so the number reflects your monitors refresh-rate.
E.g.: If your monitor is using 75hz, rename the files to: '75vcframelimiter.cs' and '75vcframelimiter.txt'
*90 being the highest number.
Mod Loader (LINK)
Download the latest version, and unpack into the Vice City game-folder.
*This tool is not necessary to install for the mods in this guide. However, it's a really useful tool for installing/testing mods. I highly recommend it, especially if you want to add some custom cars to the game.
SilentPatch (LINK)
Download both 'SilentPatchVC' and 'DDraw Component'.
Unpack both files into the Vice City game-folder.
Widescreen Fix (LINK)
Download both files and unpack to a temporary folder.
Move the files from within 'GTAVC.WidescreenFix' and 'GTAVC.WidescreenFrontend' into the Vice City game-folder. Overwrite.
HD Radio Icons (LINK)
Download and unpack to a temporary folder.
Move 'fronten2.txd' into the 'models' folder inside the Vice City game-folder. Overwrite.
Windowed Mode (LINK)

Move the 'III.VC.SA.WindowedMode.asi' into the 'scripts' folder inside the Vice City game-folder. Don't copy any other files.
Mods 2: Game-play Changes
First Person View (LINK)
Download and unpack to a temporary folder.
Move the 3 files into the Vice City game-folder.
Mods 3: GVBP ReShader
GVBP ReShade (LINK)
Download and unpack into the Vice City game-folder.
*If you use Steam overlay, there is a chance that the display will have way too much contrast. If that happens, just disable the Steam overlay and run the game once. After that, enable the Steam overlay again, and everything should be fine.
Make sure that 'Trails' are set to 'Off' in the game options menu. See image:
*Note for Windows 10 users:
The Creators update for Windows 10 introduced a wide variety of problems, especially for games with custom renders like ENB or ReShade. If you encounter problems like messed-up graphics or extreme slowdowns, then follow the steps in number 4 here: (LINK) *Pay special attention to the RivaTuner settings.
If this doesn't work, then Windows is somehow still blocking it. Search Google for alternative ways of forcing Windows 10 to use custom d3d files. If you are unable to fix it, then you will have to uninstall the ReShade and play without. Just delete the d3d9.dll file but keep everything else.
Mods 4: New Cars
There are literally thousands of car replacement mods for GTA 3 Vice City.(LINK) or (LINK)
Replace as many or as few as you like. Follow installation instructions for each mod. *Use the Mod Loader mod, and trying new cars will be fast and easy.
End of Mod-List
Grand Theft Auto 3: Vice City is ready for launch
*If the game crashes on the very first launch, don't worry. CTDs sometimes happen at the very first launch after file changes. Start the game again, and everything will be fine.

Brief info about Grand Theft Auto 3: Vice City
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is the 6th game in the popular game from RockStar Games. The game was developed and originally released in 2002 & 2003, with a re-release for android in 2012. It uses the same engine as GTA III, but is played in Vice City, a fictional place based upon the real world Miami. Vice City has a distinct 80's theme to it, which matches the game and graphics extremely well. The story follows Tommy Vercetti after he is released from Prison. He is part of a traditional Italian mafia, but seeks personal expanding and control during the game. Beginning from scratch, he builds his empire and gains territory and reputation. Just like the previous game, GTA III, the game is an open-world action-adventure. The player can roam freely at any time, even though the main story-line is linear. There are plenty of side-quests and other things to do, that make the game seems 100% open. The two main influences of the game are Miami Vice & Scarface, but most places and people are based on the real world. The 1980s drug epidemic, The biker gangs, the Cuban & Haitian's, the glam rock and of course the classic Italian Mafioso's.
Upon release, the Vice City received extremely good critics and praise from both the industry and fans. The music, game-play and open world design was simply some of the best seen at the time. GTA 3: Vice City became the best-selling game of 2002, with over 17 million copies sold, and is considered one of the most significant titles of the early 2000s. It won several 'Game of the Year' awards from gaming publications, sites and magazines.

The deal was a setup, and Tommy barely escapes with Ken, a crooked lawyer, but they loose the Forelli's money and all the cocaine. The plot is set. Tommy needs to find out what happened and who was behind the setup.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is the sixth installment of the franchise that has come out in 2002. Apart from San Andreas, Vice City is one of the most successful titles of the series that it's still worth playing even now. However, people are more into the latest title - GTA V which is better in almost every aspect: including visuals and gameplay experience.
But what if we can combine the story and the city of Vice City with the stunning graphics of GTA V? That's not a dream anymore, as the modder Lunchxbles has released his creative works namely Vice City Remastered! It's a mod that brings the vibrant Vice City alongside the main bad boy Tommy Vercetti.
The visual of Vice City has never look looked more terrific than this ever in its existence, which you can have a brief look in the short video below:
Relive our good old experience of Vice City!
Gta Vice City Pc Graphic Mod Download
Vice City looks visually stunning with its first release at the time that we can barely run it with Full HD resolution, all settings max and still being able to play smoothly. Over times, it has seen numerous mods that enhance the visuals of the game and adds more stuff, but it has completely stopped when GTA V starts to soar in popularity. As a result, we could see how Vice City should look with modern technologies in GTA 5.
But the story changes completely with Luchxble's new mod - Vice City Remastered mod for Grand Theft Auto V - which has redraw the whole city in modern visual standards. You can already see how impressive it is in the trailer, but here are the complications on what's new in this mod.
Gta Vice City Graphics Mod Steam
To be more specific, Vice City Remastered brought the 80s version of Florida of Vice City into GTA V, in addition to several advanced features. You can see all of the familiar streets, cars, bikes now being polished with detailed particles, all looks very smooth and gorgeous. The creator also stated that all of this experience is available on 4K resolution with 60FPS - if your PC can handle.
The trailer also showcases the vibrant neon lights at night, the titular palm trees on the yellow sands under the daylight, as well as showed us a top-down look from the helicopters. All of which brought back our nostalgic feelings of Vice City's insanely hard missions, which you have missed how beautiful the city looks to focus on fulfilling your tasks.
Apart from that, thanks to the vehicles mod feature that GTA V is famous for, you can see most of the cars and bikes of Vice City to be painted in the modern technology of GTA V. Of course - its rider is no one else but the bad boy Tommy Vercetti. Wearing his familiar beach T-shirt and, Tommy's movements are much more smooth and life-like now, a lot better than his cranky steps in the original games. He's only available with a separate mod also from Lunchxbles, but it's not that heavy either.
Above all, Vice City Remastered features the most advanced lighting technology that the whole world is talking about - Ray Tracing. The day-and-night experienced looks a lot more realistic with Ray Tracing turned on, and you can feel the real heavy rainstorms that rarely happen in the city with the most close-to-life experience.
How to download the mod
The steps to download Vice City Remastered are very simple: you can find it on gta5-mods.com, there will be a download button that contains a .zip file that contains a text document with the Mediafire link containing the mod. Its size is around 2.71 GB, which is fairly quick to download and easy to install.
The mod will have the install instructions inside the package, and you can follow its steps. However, if you have some problems, Lunchxbles will release an instruction video on the channel of the trailer above, which you can refer to.
Enjoy!
